Information you provide directly:

• Step and walking data: We read your step count, active stepping minutes, and walking distance from Apple Health with your permission.
• Health data: We access Apple Health data in read-only mode only. We use health data solely to provide the Service and not for advertising. We will not disclose health data for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining.
• Email address: Only if you choose to provide it during onboarding. This is optional.

Information we collect automatically:

• Usage data: We may collect information about how you interact with the app, such as features used and time spent.
• Device data: We may collect device type, operating system, and app version to improve performance and diagnose issues.

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect location data, contacts, financial information, or any other sensitive personal data beyond what is described above.

II. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Display your step count and walking history within the app
• Personalize your experience and track your Daily Goal Streak
• Send subscription renewal reminders and occasional app updates if you provided your email
• Improve the app and diagnose technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to third parties.

III. Apple Health and HealthKit Data

Walktide accesses Apple Health data solely to provide the Services. HealthKit data is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties for advertising or data mining, and never stored on our servers. All Apple Health data remains on your device. This usage complies with Apple's HealthKit guidelines.

IV. Disclosure of Information

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: With trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating the Services, under confidentiality obligations.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• Legal requirements: To comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

V. Data Retention

Step count data is stored locally on your device and is not retained on our servers. If you provided your email address, we retain it for as long as you maintain an active subscription or until you request deletion. You may request deletion of your email at any time by contacting us at hi@walktide.app.

VI. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at hi@walktide.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To revoke Walktide's access to Apple Health, go to iPhone Settings, tap Health, tap Data Access & Devices, select Walktide, and turn off access.

VII. Children

The Services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hi@walktide.app.

VIII. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

IX. Consumer Health Data

We recognize the sensitivity of health-related data. As described above, any health data accessed through Apple Health is used only to provide the Services, is never used for advertising, and never leaves your device. This applies to all step count, activity, and related health data accessed through the Services.

X. International Users

The Services are operated in the United States. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

XI. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
